Manages both assigned and prospective members within an assigned geographic area. Works closely with client accounts to determine member/client needs and propose solutions. This role will listen, consult, educate and otherwise advise on AAIM membership, products and services; to sell memberships, membership renewals, services and products.


Essential Functions:

  • Cultivate relationships with assigned key and significant member clients
    • Develop and maintain intimate knowledge of member business issues and needs
    • Develop and maintain ongoing and broad knowledge of individual contacts within each member
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of industry in which the member/client operates
  • Promote current and emerging services/projects
    • Consult with member/client to effectively communicate services to current and potential members
    • Draft proposals negotiate terms, conditions and pricing of projects
    • Oversee projects to ensure member/client satisfaction
    • Attend professional and community events to network and promote AAIM services
  • Deliver revenue and profit growth with member and nonmember clients by representing training and consulting services in the following areas:
    • Background verification services
    • Training and organization development
    • Executive and leadership development and change management
    • HR Outsourcing
    • Labor and employee relations
    • Affirmative Action Plans
    • Talent acquisition recruiting and staffing
    • Compensation and benefits
    • Employee opinion and other surveys
    • Outplacement, Payroll and Other Partnership Opportunities
  • As appropriate, acts as an executive consultant and performance coach with members/clients to provide expertise on HR, OD or other related areas; respond to professional inquiries, provide technical and other information; and coach key member/client staff for professional improvement
  • Works closely with inside sales and membership representatives to retain present members and secure new members
  • Develop and communicate Best Practices to promote consistent high quality performance and improve revenue, profitability and other performance outcomes among AAIM members
  • Capture and communicate market intelligence identify and inform AAIM management of member feedback on AAIM programs and practices as well as member needs
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required.  Advanced education and/or professional certification, e.g., SPHR, PHR, CCP, etc., is desirable. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in business to business sales managing a territory
  • 10-20% overnight travel is required


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have working knowledge of tactical and strategic human resources and/or organization development
  • Must have demonstrated experience in managing a territory within a set geography
  • Must have competency in one or more of the required professional disciplines
  • Previous successful experience with consultative sales is highly desired
  • Must have demonstrated ability to ascertain, understand and meet client/member needs
  • Previous consulting experience is highly desirable
  • Thorough knowledge of the professional environment in the industry and community in which the position operates, including knowledge of key member/clients, competitors and ongoing industry/community developments, is highly desirable
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficient with information technology such as Microsoft Office and Database software
