This position, under guidance of the Manager of Background Verification, is principally responsible for running verification of employment, education and references for the purpose of employment screening for AAIM client companies. 


This is an on-call position that will be requested to work when the workload increases or an employee is absent.    


Essential Functions:

  • Examine business, reference checks, and education and employment verification
  • Maintain and demonstrate compliance with all sections of the FCRA, State Consumer Reporting Law Compliance, UDAAP and all applicable DPPA compliance and the federal and state level
  • Utilize background system for customer orders, results, and updating customer data
  • Provide excellent customer service through timely and professional response to customer questions
  • Participate as a member of the Research & Solutions Team, continuously learning to support customer inquiries regarding AAIM resources and services
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility: No direct supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is an on-call, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday on an as needed basis.  Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel: This position requires little travel outside of the St. Louis region.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or high school diploma plus equivalent professional experience
  • 2 years of professional experience which includes customer service and analysis is required

Skills Required:

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Project management and time management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects through to completion
  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to effective and efficiently deal with vendors, other departments, fellow workers, and general public
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and accuracy in dealing with confidential information
