Chief Financial Officer

Summary:

This position is responsible for directing and overseeing all the financial and I.T. activities of the corporation including preparation of current financial reports as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook.

 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Directs the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to Board of Directors, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee, prepare, and present monthly financial budgeting reports; monthly profit and loss by department; forecast vs. budget by department; and weekly cash flow by department.
  • Reviews reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals, and suggests methods of improving the planning process as appropriate.
  • Confers with president and vice presidents to coordinate and prioritize planning.
  • Studies long-range economic trends and projects company prospects for future growth in overall sales and market share, opportunities for acquisitions or expansion into new product areas. Estimates requirements for capital, land, buildings, and an increase in the work force.
  • Oversees the I.T. function of the business including developing a forward-looking support structure and technical infrastructure which includes on-site and cloud based applications.
  • Supervises investment of funds; works with banks and/or investment bankers to raise additional capital as required for expansion.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance required.
  • Post-graduate professional degree or certification (i.e. CPA, CMA, MBA, etc.) highly preferred.
  • Eight to ten years of experience in financial management with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted direction and planning required.  The CFO will have a proven ability to drive change within an organization, and a demonstrated focus on delivering long-term profitable growth through operational cost containment and promoting value creating projects.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
