Strategic HR Advisor
Summary: The Strategic HR Advisor role is defined as an outside sales role that utilizes a consultative, value-based sales process to acquire new business and nurture an existing book of business. The advisor will serve as the subject matter expert regarding AAIM's services and solutions as well as industry best practices, standards, trends, and changes, sharing that knowledge with prospective and existing members.
Essential Functions
New Business Acquisition
- Utilize available tools and resources to continuously self-generate and manage list of leads
- Follow sales process to pursue leads in order to schedule and facilitate sales meetings with qualified membership candidates, building urgency and high buy intent
- Build sales pipeline to consistently bring on new business/members and develop a constant revenue stream
- Complete demonstrations of AAIM's membership and technology offerings, showcasing features, benefits, and value of the solution
- Partner with product managers to develop all encompassing HR solutions for members
- Achieve all established new membership and revenue targets
Existing Member Engagement
- Manage an existing book of business of AAIM members and clients
- Cultivate authentic relationships with assigned member accounts
- Meet with members frequently to identify opportunities or gaps within current HR operations, advise on best practices, trends, or changes within the HR field
- Work with members to follow Wayfinder methodology to become HR leaders throughout the industry
- Increase revenue from membership base and ensure retention through use of AAIM's holistic offering of products, solutions, and services
- Partner with product managers to develop all-encompassing HR solutions for members
- Achieve all established sales and revenue targets
Professional Development
- Attend professional, community, and organizational events on behalf of AAIM to build awareness in the area, create new membership opportunities and connect with existing AAIM members or clients
- Participate in events, seminars, webinars, trainings, groups/forums and utilize industry publications to stay current with industry best practices
- Establish AAIM as industry thought leader and establish individual reputation as a trusted HR advisor
- Provide member or client feedback to management for review and consideration
Administrative Responsibilities
- Log all activity, account information, notes, member updates and plans in Salesforce (CRM)
- Utilize reports provided by management and Salesforce to develop personalized business strategy that aligns to sales goals and AAIM priorities
- Ensure all administrative tasks related to sales are completed efficiently and accurately
- Welcome AAIM members and clients to AAIM events both in and out of the office
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
The Strategic HR Advisor will work with their members when and where needed, whether virtually or face-to-face at their place of business or in the AAIM office. This position offers a casual office setting that subscribes to AAIM's Seven Guiding Principles:

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position. To meet the needs of our members, the Strategic HR Advisor role requires and offers some flexibility. Regular days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
This position requires 10-20% travel outside of the home market, including overnight travel. Most travel is limited to Indianapolis, Indiana, the greater St. Louis metro region, and Central Illinois.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in any business or business-related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a consultative sales position with focus in new business acquisition
- Proven record of success in sales/account executive role
- Ability to facilitate conversation that brings client needs to light and recommend solutions that close the identified gaps
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master's degree in business or business-related field preferred
- Experience working with Salesforce or CRM
- Knowledge of HR related services and industry
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
- Customer service focused and ability to build rapport with people of diverse backgrounds
- Strong planning, organization, prioritization, and time management skills
- Technology savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office products
